Offsetters is recognized as Canada’s premier provider of high quality solutions for individuals and organizations seeking to reduce their climate impact. We have two goals as an organization:

1. To help individuals and companies to understand, reduce, track, and offset their climate impact.
2. To use the offset mechanism to promote the mainstream adoption of next generation energy systems that improve the way we build our cities, grow our food, and get our goods and ourselves around the world.

We offer a range of carbon offset products and services for individuals and businesses, including:

• Greenhouse gas inventories (consulting)
• Customized “carbon neutral” strategies
• Emissions calculators and offset purchase services for air travel (flights), vehicle travel (CoolDrivePass), and lifestyle emissions
• Special event offset packages for conferences, trade shows, and other events that wish to reduce and offset their climate impact; and
• Cross-promotional offset programs to help companies to add "climate friendly" options to their product and service lines.

Offsetting is positive action on climate change

Climate change is one of the most serious issues facing humanity. We now know that industrial activity over the whole of the industrial era has increased the quantity of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. These gases trap heat in the atmosphere and promote global warming. Each individual in Canada and the US emits around 5 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year into the atmosphere from their day-to-day activities. If we include all the emissions from the goods and services we consume and the industrial activities that create them, the figure is much higher.

Offsetters' carbon offsets are investments in projects that prevent greenhouse gases from being emitted into the atmosphere. All of our projects are verified by qualified third parties as being:

1. Real. Verifiers confirm that our projects take place as promised.
2. “Additional.” Offsetters investments lead to real reductions in total greenhouse gas emissions by enabling projects that would otherwise not take place.
3. Permanent. We avoid reforestation and other projects that only temporarily store carbon.
4. Socially beneficial. Offsetters projects bring social and local environmental benefits as well as climate gains.
